Saturday, September 9th - Starved Rock Saplings, Oh Dear!

Oh Deer, it's time for another Starved Rock Saplings Story Time at the park! Join staff for a fun and educational program that will help little ones discover the world of white-tailed deer through a storybook, craft/activity, and a short hike to look for deer tracks and scat.

 

Saturday, October 21st - Falltober Fest: Starved Rock Saplings, Going Batty

They will be going batty at the park for Falltober Fest on October 21st. Join the staff at Starved Rock State Park for a fun kids program that morning, where they will read a storybook on bats, explore the different species of bats found in Illinois, and play a fun game about bats and their favorite food-moths!

 

Saturday, November 11th - Starved Rock Saplings, Squirrely!

Go squirrely with fun education about squirrel species at Starved Rock State Park! A storybook will be read followed by a craft and a short hike in search of squirrels!

 

Saturday, December 9th - Starved Rock Saplings, Natures Noel

Celebrate the season with a fun and educational program on wildlife in winter while making a fun craft to hang on the trees outside to feed and watch wildlife during the winter. A storybook will be read followed by a craft and a short winter hike in search of signs of wildlife.
