Star Union Spirits takes home gold and silver medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition

Star Union Spirits in Peru, IL was awarded a Gold Medal for their new 75-25 Light Whiskey and a Silver Medal for their American Corn Series Apply Brandy Barrel Light Whiskey at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

The 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition is one of the most respected and influential spirits competition in the world and the awards are some of the most reliable and universal indications of spirit excellence. Last year, Star Union Spirits won two Double Gold awards for their Navy Strength Dark Rum and Reserve Rum and Gold Medal for their Rested Agave.

Their 75-25 Light Whiskey name comes from the mash bill of 75% corn and 25% rye, aged in an American Oak charred barrel and bottled at 107 proof/ 53.5 ABV. The American Corn Series Light Whiskey aged in an Apply Brandy Barrel is made of 90% corn, rye, and malted barley, aged for one year in used Star Union Spirits toasted oak Brandy barrels.
