LOCAL TOURISM BUREAU WINS GOVERNORS AWARD FOR MARKETING CAMPAIGN
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) was awarded the Peer Award for best Media/Marketing Campaign
for the "Beyond Expectations... Bolingbrook" holiday campaign. Presented at the 26th Annual Illinois Governor's Conference on Tourism, the Governor's
Awards program recognizes innovative tourism promotional and marketing initiatives from across the state.
"We are absolutely thrilled that our Bolingbrook campaign was chosen from the conference attendees - our peers," notes Robert
Navarro, President/CEO of the Heritage Corridor CVB, "We put a lot of time and energy into developing the campaign to position Bolingbrook as a
shopping destination for the holiday season." The Bureau utilized the experience and creative talents of TDSM Agency in Ottawa, Illinois.
Entries into this prestigious competition include submissions from destination marketing organizations, trade associations,
chambers of commerce and private sector companies. Awards are given based the creativity, originality, and quality of the materials that were produced.
Heritage Corridor CVB's integrated campaign was chosen from all entries.
Heritage Corridor CVB partners received additional honors: Joliet Visitors Bureau for their general brochure on Route 66 exhibit,
Route 66 signage, and the Route 66 integrated marketing campaign; Starved Rock Lodge in both the general brochure and newsletter categories; and
Streator Tourism for their Planet Pluto integrated marketing campaign. The categories are based on organization's budget category. Last year,
the Heritage Corridor CVB was recognized for outstanding website.
