Tangled Roots Brewing Company Part of "Illinois Made" Shoreline Sightseeing Cruise Set for August 4

Brewery will offer craft beers featuring locally grown and sourced ingredients.

CHICAGO, IL:  Tangled Roots Brewing Company is taking part in the first-ever “Illinois Made” cruise on August 4.  The Ottawa-based brewery will be one of four beverage companies featured on this cruise, highlighting the Illinois “Art-is-an Experience.”

The “Illinois Made” program is an Illinois Office of Tourism program that recognizes the artisans, products and experiences unique to the state.  Launched in 2016, the program inspires travel across Illinois and encourages people to extend their travel beyond a day trip by exploring the local businesses and great attractions around the state.

“Tangled Roots Brewing Company believes in the words craft & artisanal. It is sewn into the fabric of everything that we as a company do,” stated Scott Struchen, Founder & Chief Commercial Officer of Tangled Roots Brewing Company.  “We believe in "Illinois Made" and the local businesses that make our communities thrive.

The “Illinois Made” Cruise will depart from Shoreline’s dock at Polk Bros. Park at the southwest corner of Navy Pier at 8:00pm, with boarding beginning at 7:45pm.  The boat will return at 9:30pm.  Tickets are $49.00 per person, and a cash bar is available.  Information is at shorelinesightseeing.com/special-events or at 312-222-9328.

Along with Tangled Roots Brewing Company, the following “Illinois Made” providers will be on hand sampling their beverages.

  • Blaum Bros. Distilling Co.  (Galena, IL – whiskeys and vodkas)
  • Whiskey Acres Distilling Co.  (DeKalb, IL – farm-to-distillery beverages)
  • St. Nicholas Brewing Co. (De Quoin, IL – summer craft brews)

“The Illinois Made Program sheds a great light on the power of passion and creativity,” stated Robert Navarro, Director of the Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau.  “And when people put their heart and soul intp a product, just like the group at Tangled Roots Brewing Company and their restaurant (The Lone Buffalo), it is truly something to see, experience and taste.”
