Where is the Heritage Corridor?
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) encompasses the communities and counties along the historic 97-mile Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. The Heritage Corridor spans from the Chicago Portage Area just southwest of Chicago to LaSalle-Peru including the counties of Will, Grundy, LaSalle and Putnam. The region conveniently located along I-55 from Chicago to Joliet along I-80 west to LaSalle-Peru.

Purrrfectly Pet-Friendly Hotels

There’s need to leave Fido or Fluffy behind when planning your “purrfect” trip to the Heritage Corridor.  Dogs and cats work really hard to be loving and adorable, so they deserve some R & R, too! The Cabins of Starved Rock Lodge - Oglesby

Starved Rock Lodge, nestled in the lush forested confines of Starved Rock State Park, offers a select number of cabins to accommodate your furry friend. With an additional fee of $35 per pet, per stay, your best friend will feel right at home in your cabin. Dogs are allowed in the park and on trails but must be leashed and picked up after. Pets are not allowed in any park buildings, including the Starved Rock Lodge’s main building.

Starved Rock Campground - Utica

Located about a mile from the Starved Rock Visitor Center and Starved

Rock Lodge, off of Route 71, the campground features 133 Class A premium campsites complete with electricity, showers, flush toilets and a playground. Permits are required and alcohol is prohibited in the campground. Pets are allowed as long as they are leashed and you must pick up after them.

The Willows Hotel Hotel - Utica

This quaint boutique hotel with a warm residential feel welcomes pets with open arms. Just a mile from the entrance of Starved Rock State Park and two miles from Matthiessen State Park, The Willows is a short stroll from shopping, restaurants, wineries and pubs.
