Where is the Heritage Corridor?
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) encompasses the communities and counties along the historic 97-mile Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. The Heritage Corridor spans from the Chicago Portage Area just southwest of Chicago to LaSalle-Peru including the counties of Will, Grundy, LaSalle and Putnam. The region conveniently located along I-55 from Chicago to Joliet along I-80 west to LaSalle-Peru.

Join us for a guided hike with the possibility of frozen waterfalls & Eagles from the lodge to LaSalle Canyon. Participants meet in the hotel lobby of the Lodge to pick up a snack and a "Starved Rock" backpack. After leaving LaSalle Canyon the hike continues to Eagles Cliff and Lover's Leap for the best view of the majestic Eagles. The tour concludes at the Lodge about 2:00pm. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear proper footwear. In the event of ice and snow we advise Yaktrax for extra traction. Hike will be about 4.5 miles round trip. Remember to bring your binoculars and cameras. Included is: homemade granola bar, bottled water, "Starved Rock" backpack and voucher for a small hot chocolate or coffee in our Café upon your return.
