Where is the Heritage Corridor?
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) encompasses the communities and counties along the historic 97-mile Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. The Heritage Corridor spans from the Chicago Portage Area just southwest of Chicago to LaSalle-Peru including the counties of Will, Grundy, LaSalle and Putnam. The region conveniently located along I-55 from Chicago to Joliet along I-80 west to LaSalle-Peru.

Art from the Ashes: Exhibit Opening at the Joliet Area Historical Museum

Art from the Ashes: An Exhibition of The Old Joliet Prison Burnt District Artists will showcase the work of the Old Joliet Burnt District Artists, a group of Joliet-based artist assembled in 2018. This group formed in response to a challenge to re-purpose items destroyed during the four acts of arson at the prison site between 2013 and 2017. This special exhibit will be on display in at the Joliet Area Historical Museum's temporary gallery from February 1st - September 30th.

Don't miss the exhibit's opening reception on February 1st from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. Live entertainment, light appetizers and a cash bar will be available.  The reception is free for members of the Joliet Area Historical Museum, and $5 per person for the general public.
