Don't miss the 27th Annual Lemont Heritage Fest on Saturday, September 2nd. Enjoy food, music, and family fun for All Ages! The fun beings at 3pm in downtown Lemont, with activities and music until 11pm. The amazing musical lineup includes a little variety for everyone: Jim & Jayne of the Scribble Monster, Johnny Russler & the Beach Bum Band, Petty Cash and Steven Neal. Take a look at the lineup below. Kids of all ages can have their face painted, participate in a black ops obstacle course, be in old time photos, check out extreme air the tidal wave zip-line, smash an automobile take a ride on the miracle express train, enjoy pony rides and more! Event-goers will also be able to enjoy Lemont’s own Pollyanna Brewery Craft Beer.
MUSIC LINEUPJim & Jane of Scribble Monster Many people, especially kids, know Jim Dague better as ScribbleJim. Jim has illustrated three innovative books about the adventures of ScribbleMonster, a character he created while working with children age three and younger. He was surprised to find the children had already developed a strong apprehension to drawing, primarily concerned that their efforts wouldn’t be “good enough.” ScribbleMonster changed all that by allowing the focus to be on what the child can do, rather than focusing on what he or she can’t. Applying the same approach to music, Jim went on to form the band ScribbleMonster in 2001 and has been writing, producing and performing music for children and their families ever since. Johnny Russler and the Beach Bum Band One night Johnny went to the neighborhood Hooters. That night there was a Jimmy Buffett party. Johnny tapped his foot to that "Margaritaville" song and ate his Chicken Wings. With a clear musical purpose in hand Johnny put together his "Beach Bun Band" and have been performing island classics ever since. They will be bringing that iconic Buffet sound to you this Saturday the 2nd! PettyCash is a high octane stage show appropriate for old rockers, baby rockers and everything in between. The combined years of musical experience in this band equals...roughly...1,000 so you’re guaranteed to see some shredding too. But sorry folks...they won’t kick out the footlights unless it is specifically requested by those die hard aficionados. So don’t be Petty...just give ‘em some Cash and wait for your new, favorite cover band to spark a love affair with you...like Johnny & June!" Following the rules and waiting for something to happen has never been in country music up and coming artist, Stephen Neal. "I knew the path of going to Nashville and writing hundreds of songs and playing in song-writer bars and just hoping that someday someone hears you, would not be a reality for me," recalls Neal. "I knew my opportunity would lie ahead building my own fan base and connecting with new fans in each city that I’d go." Stephen has done just that. With just over a year since he decided to “go for it” and release his first EP, “I Just Drive” and then a second acoustic EP Stephen has amassed a fan base on his social media alone over 20,000 followers which continues to climb. Beyond his fresh new music, Stephen's rapidly growing fan base is much attributed to the way he connects with his fans both through social media and at his shows. He tries to meet with as many of his fans before and after his shows as he believes that it makes sense to give back to those who are giving to you. Stephen has gotten the chance to play along with fellow artists that were once in his shoes - he's had the opportunity to play with Chris Young, Joe Nichols, Granger Smith, Trace Adkins, Michael Ray and looks forward to what's to come. |
