Located just southeast of Joliet, the Village of Manhattan is conveniently at a crossroads of several major interstates I 80, I 55, I 57, and nearby I 355. The construction of the railroad in the mid-19th century is what originally brought many immigrants, mainly Irish, to settle in Manhattan. The Village celebrates this heritage during their annual Irish Fest. This two-day festival showcases athletic contests, Irish culture, mass and parade, Irish music, Emerald Society Pipes and Drums and much more entertainment for all to enjoy. Purchase a button and you’re in! Visit www.manhattanirishfest.com to learn how to join in the raucous festivities.
