Covering just 2.6 square miles, the small Village of McCook played a mighty role in our nation’s history. During WWII, McCook was home to the Electro-Motive Company, a subsidiary of General Motors, which manufactured aluminum skins for wartime aircraft. Today, McCook is where you’ll find what locals affectionately called The MAX. The McCook Athletic & Expo Center hosts basketball, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, expos, kid’s sports, corporate outings and special events.
