Being located along Historic Route 66 brings visitors to Braidwood's welcome mat. Most notably, the Polk-a-Dot Drive-In originally attracted Route 66 travelers with its hometown food served out of an old school bus painted with rainbow polk-a-dots. Today, it's a must-stop attraction which still serves up the best burgers, turtle sundaes and famous chili cheese fries around. Visitors can revel in their extensive colection of memorabilia and pick up a souvenir for those nostalgics back home. Braidwood is also home to 2600 acre Braidwood Lake for great fishing, bird watching and fossil hunting. Bald Eagles and pelicans have been sighted there and the Illinois State Fossil Tully Monster was discovered nearby. Chritmas tree and blueberry farms offer family fun and the Braidwood Lion's Club hosts an annual Summerfest in July.

Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or looking to make a trip down memory lane, a visit to Braidwood is sure to bring you back.
