Ghosts of Ottawa's Past

On Friday, October 13th, and Saturday October 14th, The Reddick Mansion Association presents “Ghosts of Ottawa Past” with some new and different stories. You’ll go on a guided tour starting in the candle-lit Reddick Mansion where participants will learn about the three funerals that were held in the Mansion.

Along with the tour of the mansion, this program includes a quarter-mile outside walk along Columbus Street. During this you’ll hear about the mysterious moving books in the library of the Appellate Court building and will visit the location of the last hanging in LaSalle County. Watch where you go while you walk as other famous and infamous ghostly characters from Ottawa’s past may also appear.

Each night there will be two tours given: one at 7pm and one at 9pm. After the walking tours, the groups will return to the Reddick Mansion for refreshments. The cost is $15 per person and, due to the subject matter, participants should be at least 12 years old. Each tour is limited to 20 people and reservations are required.

For reservations, please call the Reddick Mansion at 815-433-6100 or register on-line at www.reddickmansion.org. All money raised will be used for the preservation and renovation of the Reddick Mansion.
