Plum Creek Nature Center in partnership with the Nature Foundation of Will County will host a juried art competition featuring local artists. Enjoy this one of a kind art exhibition and also participate in a public vote for the winners. Artists will submit artwork inspired by the theme "Spring Awakens." All approved 2D and 3D art mediums will be accepted except performance art or film. If it celebrates the first leafing out of trees, blooming of bulbs, or critters waking up after a long hibernation – all the better. Cash prizes of $500 for first place, $250 for second place, $200 for third place will be awarded at an artists' reception March 30. Artists who would like to apply to have their artwork featured in the show should complete the application and attach digital photos of the artwork for consideration. Artists must be 18 years of age or older to enter the competition. The deadline to apply is February 1. The event runs from Tuesday, March 12 through Sunday, March 31.
