Where is the Heritage Corridor?
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) encompasses the communities and counties along the historic 97-mile Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. The Heritage Corridor spans from the Chicago Portage Area just southwest of Chicago to LaSalle-Peru including the counties of Will, Grundy, LaSalle and Putnam. The region conveniently located along I-55 from Chicago to Joliet along I-80 west to LaSalle-Peru.

We are establishing the premier juried art festival in the State of Illinois showcasing visual artists, theatre, film and music in Ottawa, Illinois from September 6-9, 2018. For 3 days, visitors and residents will be able to stroll the streets of Ottawa as art galleries take over shops, musicians line the streets and films & drama performances play from morning to night. $35,000 in Cash prizes and recognition will be awarded to winning artists from an esteemed jury and from public votes! All visual artists, musicians, theatre groups and film producers are encourage to apply to be part of this great festival celebrating the arts. Art lovers, music connoisseurs, drama admirers, film buffs, Ottawa is the place to experience a juried arts festival like no other. Our community also has enchanting shops and excellent restaurants, with a top notch micro brewery in the middle of the downtown area. Nine large murals grace our buildings and Washington Square Park showcases the Lincoln Douglas Statues, dedicating the First Debate between the two in the 1850's. Ottawa also is the land between two rivers, Fox and Illinois. Scenery abounds with our two beautiful rivers and several natural parks.
