Has it been a while since you've pulled out the old rod 'n' reel? Well, then this is the perfect opportunity to grab the family for some quality time out on the water at Monee Reservoir. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is sponsoring free fishing days to help you do just that. One weekend in June has been set aside to sample the action without having to invest in a fishing license. We have also added our own incentives. On Friday, receive a voucher good for a free one-hour boat rental (excludes paddle boats). On Saturday, receive a box of night crawlers and, on Sunday, receive one free fishing pole rental. Regular rules and regulations still apply on rentals, such as a cash deposit and a valid driver's license. District policies also still apply, such as size and quantity limits. Shoreline fishing and sidewalks are paved and easily accessible.
