Where is the Heritage Corridor?
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) encompasses the communities and counties along the historic 97-mile Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. The Heritage Corridor spans from the Chicago Portage Area just southwest of Chicago to LaSalle-Peru including the counties of Will, Grundy, LaSalle and Putnam. The region conveniently located along I-55 from Chicago to Joliet along I-80 west to LaSalle-Peru.

Fun Family Paddle

Enjoy a fun-filled day out on the water with your family. Play games and tour the reservoir. Certified naturalists will provide all necessary equipment including life jackets and paddles. Both canoes and kayaks will be available. Upon registering, please let us know your preference. Participants must be age 12 or older to use a kayak. Previous kayaking experience is recommended but is not required. Be sure to wear clothes and shoes that can get wet. Consider bringing sunscreen, sunglasses and bottled water. This is a noninstructional paddle program. Group rates are available; call for more information. The launch area is easily accessible by a paved sidewalk from the parking lot. Private one-on-one paddling instruction is also available by appointment only. For ages 12 or older. Participants younger than age 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult. Registration required by Thursday, June 28.
