Where is the Heritage Corridor?
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) encompasses the communities and counties along the historic 97-mile Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. The Heritage Corridor spans from the Chicago Portage Area just southwest of Chicago to LaSalle-Peru including the counties of Will, Grundy, LaSalle and Putnam. The region conveniently located along I-55 from Chicago to Joliet along I-80 west to LaSalle-Peru.

Anna Braum will talk about prairie plants that that are part of restoration at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie in the wetlands areas. Anna will help de-mystify questions about wetland prairie plants for home gardeners. Which of prairie wetland plants grow well in a home garden? Do you need a wetland area at home to consider growing wetland prairie plants, or can some grow well outside of a wetland? Why should you consider growing wetland prairie plants? Come ready to share your notes and best practices acquired so far during the 2020 growing season, and bring some questions to help get prepared for 2021. Anna Braum is an Ecologist with The Wetlands Initiative. Her work focuses on promoting the development of diverse natural communities with restored ecological function.
