Where is the Heritage Corridor?
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) encompasses the communities and counties along the historic 97-mile Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. The Heritage Corridor spans from the Chicago Portage Area just southwest of Chicago to LaSalle-Peru including the counties of Will, Grundy, LaSalle and Putnam. The region conveniently located along I-55 from Chicago to Joliet along I-80 west to LaSalle-Peru.

Winter Lecture Series, Speakers - Dr. Dr. Madeleine McLeester and Professor Mark Schurr - University of Notre Dame Dr. Terrance Martin - Illinois State Museum

Learn about the recent finds, archaeology of the region, and artifact analyses currently underway from the 2019 Passport in Time excavations at Midewin. Stick around after the lecture to see some of the artifacts displayed by Midewin volunteers.all the past.

Lectures begin at 7:00pm, doors open at 6:30pm. The Midewin Welcome Center is located at 30239 S. State Rte. 53 Wilmington, IL 60481. Lectures are free, however space is limited and registration is required. Call 815-423-6370 or e-mail SM.FS.Midewin_RSVP@usda.gov to register.
