In the United States, more than 500 million plastic straws are thrown away daily and around 100 billion plastic bags are purchased annually. In a world full of plastic, how does the environment stand a chance? The answer is YOU. Join in on a presentation about how to live plastic free and make small lifestyle changes that have huge benefits for the natural world. After the presentation, participants will grab gloves and bags and venture out into Isle a la Cache preserve to help remove litter. This program begins indoors in an accessible facility and continues outside for a 0.3-mile hike on natural terrain across uneven surfaces. Ages 13 or older. (Ages 15 or younger must be accompanied by a registered adult.) Registration required by Thursday, October 10: 815.886.1467.
