Where is the Heritage Corridor?
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) encompasses the communities and counties along the historic 97-mile Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. The Heritage Corridor spans from the Chicago Portage Area just southwest of Chicago to LaSalle-Peru including the counties of Will, Grundy, LaSalle and Putnam. The region conveniently located along I-55 from Chicago to Joliet along I-80 west to LaSalle-Peru.

Located in Downtown Joliet along Chicago and Van Buren Streets, right near the Rialto Square Theatre. Parking is free the parking deck at 110 N. Ottawa Street which lets out right into the event area. This event is free for all attendees. PERSONAL PETS ARE WELCOME! We ask that you be in control of your leashed pet at all times. (Retractable leashes are not permitted.) Join us in Downtown Joliet for the 3rd Annual Paws on 66 Pet Rescue Day, presented in partnership with Safe Pets for Joliet and Paws Crossed Rescue Resource. This event is sponsored by Hawk Subaru Joliet. There will be dozens of rescues with dogs onsite to meet and adopt, as well as vendors, activities, and food! Want to participate? Participation in Paws on 66 as a pet rescue or service provider is FREE. We ask that you provide some kind of informational, fun, interactive, or educational activity for pet owners. If you are a vendor with items for sale, you will be charged a vendor fee of just $40, flat rate, regardless of space reserved. Checks can be made payable to Joliet City Center Partnership.
