Where is the Heritage Corridor?
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) encompasses the communities and counties along the historic 97-mile Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. The Heritage Corridor spans from the Chicago Portage Area just southwest of Chicago to LaSalle-Peru including the counties of Will, Grundy, LaSalle and Putnam. The region conveniently located along I-55 from Chicago to Joliet along I-80 west to LaSalle-Peru.

Bolingbrook Area

Great shopping, Great activities and Great outdoor theater. The Bolingbrook Area offers shopping experiences, sports & recreation, lodging, historic places and landmarks.

Visit Bolingbrook Area from the Heritage Corridor and spend time at the Promenade! This lifestyle mall is filled with name brand stores including Macy's, the Gap, Bass Pro Shop and many more. The restaurants within this complex are an experience in world cuisine.

Just across the street you will find IKEA, where shopping is taken to another level in home furnishings and décor. If you can't get enough of the activities spend time at Wilderness Falls playing miniature golf, or practicing your batting skills. Visit the Bolingbrook Aviation Museum and watch the planes take off and land.

The performing arts center at the City of Bolingbrook town center offers outdoor performances in their bandshell throughout the summer and the Rocket Ice Center is a great place to polish up your skating. Spend a day at Pelican Harbor Water Park and hike several park district trails across the city. If you are into fishing, the Hidden Lakes Historic Trout Farm is in the center of town! Hidden in a secluded spot, this venue will delight youngsters and adults alike.

Nearby Romeoville hosts great restaurants and activities as well. The Isle a la Cache Museum is dedicated to the fur trade and annually hosts a Rendezvous to bring re-enactors' to their grounds. Check the Calendar of Events for current 2009-10 Dates. Stroll, shop and visit with the vendors and learn about the rich history of the fur trading that encompassed our area.

Also in Romeoville is Brunswick Zone, a 60,000 square foot family entertainment center. With 48 lanes of bowling fun, restaurant, video game room, 2000 square foot Laser Tag course, billiard tables and a fireside lounge for adults, this attraction will wow any guest! Not to be outdone White Fence Farm in Romeoville boasts the best fried chicken in the world! This unique attraction is not only a great restaurant, but a collectible museum within itself. Be sure to venture out back to the petting zoo and read the story of how this farm became one of the most visited Route 66 stops.
