Where is the Heritage Corridor?
The Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) encompasses the communities and counties along the historic 97-mile Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. The Heritage Corridor spans from the Chicago Portage Area just southwest of Chicago to LaSalle-Peru including the counties of Will, Grundy, LaSalle and Putnam. The region conveniently located along I-55 from Chicago to Joliet along I-80 west to LaSalle-Peru.

      • Entry fee $2.00 each category
      • Bring item already prepared for display.
      • Register/set up 9:00am, judging begins at 10:00am.
      • Winners announce after judging
      • 4 feet of table space will be provided to display entry
      • Items will not be judged on taste. Judging will be on: originality, appearance, and motif.
      • Prizes: 1st-$50.00, 2nd-$30.00, 3rd-$20.00
      • Three categories:
        • 1. Bountiful Fruits: any decorated fruit or fruit baskets
        • 2. Vibrant Vegetables: any decorated vegetables
        • 3. Cutie Cupcakes: decorated cupcakes, need at least a dozen
    • Down in the Barn (Activities for Kids)
      • All activities in the Hunt Building at 10:00am
        • 1. Cutest Little Farmer Contest Girls and boys group ages: 2-4 years old, 5-7 years old, 8-11 years old Judging will be on neatness, creativity, and overall effect. Contestants may bring one object that will accent their costume. There will be no live animals allowed.
        • 2. Ponytail Contest Age groups include: 2 years and under 3-5 years old 6-8 years old 9-11 years old * A ponytail is one, either braided or not, Pigtails will not be judged *If the hair is braided, it must be braided as far as possible *No french braid or corn row. Ponytails must be secured by a rubber band and my be located anywhere *Length of hair will be the chief factor in judging and will be measured from the base (rubber band) of the ponytail to the end of the longest hair *In case of a tie for first place hair will be judged on neatness and beauty
        • 3. Cutest Little Surfer Dog Dog must be on a leash and dressed in surf theme apparel. Prizes will be given to the best dressed dog. **Must clean up after dog
      • Kiddie Tractor Pull 
        • 11:00 am (registration at 10:45 am) 
      • Raw Potato Decorating Contest 
        • 3:00pm in the Hunt Building.
        • No entry fee. Fun for the whole family.
        • Fifteen minutes to decorate a raw potato with edible materials provided or may bring own supplies.
        • Age groups include: 7 years and under 8-13 years old 14 and older Prizes given in each age group: 1st, 2nd and 3rd
      • Illinois State Fair Karaoke Contest 
        • 3:00pm at the Activity Building
      • Frozen T-Shirt Contest
        • 4:30 P.M. at the Free Stage

Imagination Acres

Enjoy this agricultural town under the big tent! Visit the Pizzeria, vet clinic & puppet stage. Play in the corn wagon, on straw bale horses or crawl through "Cabbage" the caterpillar. See two river barges and tow boat complete with a grain elevator to load grain! Visit the "Worm Condominium" & Barnyard Face Cutouts! New this year-crop duster plane and a horse to measure yourself!
